Nature Sketching and Poetry Session
August 12 @ 10:00 am - 12:00 pm£10
Under the guidance of poet, writer, cyclist and environmentalist Caroline Burrows, you will take a walk around the beautiful gardens of Cotesbach Hall and choose a leaf to sketch before using this as a starting point for a poem. Don’t worry, you don’t need to be any good at drawing, or writing poems to participate! This is an exercise in observation and reflecting on any feelings or ideas that come up during the sketching process. You might find yourself contemplating a fallen branch from the Monkeypuzzle tree, or maybe a sprig from the Ilex evergreen Oak or the ancient Ash, hundreds of years old – any of which could be the starting point for a multitude of words!
The class will take place outside weather permitting (please bring a camping chair if you have one – we can carry it for you if needed). All materials will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own pencils.
